Happy Friday, Travelers!
Well, the 2016 elections are over and done with. I am not pleased about the Presidential results, but that is another conversation for another day *cough*. I had to place myself into happy thoughts today and think of things that I am excited for, and then I remembered that next week, a dope event that is making its way around the country will be headed to the DFW.
What event am I talking about?
None other than the Too Fly Happy Hour, affectionately known as the #TooFlyFundraiser, put on by The Scheme Team and Hardly Home, two brands that I personally bang with heavy. It is an opportunity for young professionals to come together at a happening location to enjoy drink specials that will give proceeds to a passport scholarship fundraiser. Now, let's talk about why I am excited about this FREE event next week and the purpose behind it all.
The Scheme Team and Hardly Home came together to put on The Passport Program.
Why should I support this event?
I don't know about you, but this makes me excited. My entire mission for the blog is to inspire and encourage others to step outside of their comfort zone, and this is an opportunity to put words into action. With the holiday season coming up, we already know that our social calendars will be revved up, so why not party with a purpose? The #TooFlyFundraiser is your opportunity to do just that. Proceeds from the event will go directly towards the fundraising campaign for ONE HUNDRED passport scholarships.
Earlier this year, The Scheme Team and Hardly Home had their first #TooFlyFundraiser in New York City but naturally (because, Texas), they decided to take their talents to Dallas. However, if you are living near Atlanta, fret not, because the next #TooFlyFundraiser will be headed that way soon.
Now, more than ever, we need to do work in the community and build up our younger folks, and I cannot wait to see the dream behind The Passport Program manifest itself into actuality and I am honored to be a part of it.
What if I don't live in a city where the #TooFlyFundraiser is being hosted or I can't attend?
I can help you there because you are still able to donate directly to the cause. I promise you, no amount is too small when it's coming from the heart. Best of all, the link isn't expiring anytime soon, so if you're like me, you have the option of making multiple payments and sharing it with your network. You can also purchase a shirt from Hardly Home that will give proceeds to The Passport Program as well.
If you are reading this post, more than likely, you have had some experiences with international travel and it has made a lasting impression on you. Let us not be selfish. I want people my students' age to be able to have thought-provoking conversations about what they have witnessed around the world and to serve as ambassadors for our great country, unlike the Presidential Elect who shall not be named. I truly believe in the mission of The Passport Program and can't wait to attend the #TooFlyFundraiser to show my support.

DFW and Atlanta readers / visitors, I'm calling you out! Don't meet me there but BEAT me to the #TooFlyFundraiser. Meet some new faces and #PourForPassports. This is our opportunity to give the gift of travel to others and that makes me warm and fuzzy inside. ;-)
Sound off in the comments if you're digging the event's concept!
